Sanjay Godhwani, MD

Sanjay Godhwani graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University, Grenada, in 2008. He completed his internship and residency in Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York from 2008-2012. He was the Chief resident from 2011-2012. He has clinical experience as an Internist/Hospitalist and Primary Care Pediatrician.

He completed fellowship training in Rheumatology at Stony Brook University Medical Center from 2013-2015 and was the department’s Chief Fellow during 2014-2015. Dr. Sanjay Godhwani is currently Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Rheumatology. He is a Rheumatologist and recently the Director of the John T. Mather Hospital Infusion Center in Port Jefferson, NY.

Now, Dr. Godhwani is the Medical Director and rheumatologist at Wading River, with Island Rheumatology and Osteoporosis. He is looking forward to continuing to provide optimal care to his patients. 

KYLE ESKRIDGE, PA

Kyle Eskridge Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Bioscience from the State University Of New York at Farmingdale in 2014. Kyle gained medical experience working for over three years as a Physical Therapy Aide at Central Orthopedic Group, assisting patients recover from injuries and surgeries. He gained tremendous knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and how important patient education is in healing and recovery. Kyle Eskridge then graduated from Turo University School of Health Science in 2018 as a Board-Certified Physician Assistant. 

Kyle Eskridge Joined Island Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, PC in late 2018 and is serving our community for patients with autoimmune and rheumatic diseases. Kyle is genuine, caring, and a very warm individual who loves to help each patient suffering from pain and arthritis. His special areas of interest are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, and much more. Kyle is a vital part of the practice and an excellent advocate for patient health and safety. Kyle has superb skills in getting an accurate history, performing physical examinations, and diagnosing and treating patients with rheumatic disease. He is proficient with in-office procedures and injections. Our practice is very lucky to have a unique and caring individual like Kyle Eskridge. 

PUJA GODHWANI, NP

Puja Godhwani graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Adelphi University in 2010. Upon graduation, she worked at Winthrop University Hospital in the Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care unit for over five years, providing hands-on care to critically ill patients. She then obtained her Master of Science at Adelphi University in 2015 and graduated in 2018 with her Degree as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. During this time, she also worked as a full-time nurse at Three Village Cardiology, where she assisted in performing various cardiac tests and educating patients on high-risk medications and safety measures. She also has over two years of clinical experience as a Case Manager with Catholic Home Care and a Charge Nurse at St. Catherine’s of Siena and Rehabilitation. 

Upon Graduation as a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner, Puja Godhwani joined Island Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, PC. She now serves our Suffolk County community and specializes in natural and holistic healthcare. Her focus has been to treat chronic pain with a variety of non-Opiate therapies such as Medical Marijuana. In addition, Puja has taken on the challenge to help those with Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, and those suffering from anxiety, depression as well as POST COVID FATIGUE SYNDROME (Long-COVID). She offers a diverse combination of Vitamins for IV hydration, recovery, and pain relief. Her goal is to serve each patient as an individual and customize their specific needs. She also offers weight loss programs to help each patient look and feel their best. 

Puja Godhwani is a very kind and compassionate Nurse practitioner. Her patient care skills and rapport with patients and family members are superb. We are very proud and thrilled to have her as a part of our practice, where she can help patients suffering from chronic diseases and make their journey enjoyable. 

CRAIG OROFINO, PA

Craig Orofino graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Physician Assistant Degree from Long Island University in Brooklyn in 2004. Upon graduation, Craig gained tremendous knowledge and experience in Rheumatology. He worked at the Arthritis Institute of Long Island from 2004 – 2009, where he began his career as a Physician Assistant. He then went on to work with East Coast Rheumatology from 2009 to 2011. Most recently, Craig worked at Long Island Regional Arthritis and Osteoporosis Care from 2011 to 2021. 

Craig Orofino joined Island Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, PC, in the fall of 2021. He has been a wonderful addition to our practice. His background, knowledge, and excellent patient care skills have been tremendous for the patients in our community suffering from joint and muscle pain. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is proficient in diagnosing and managing autoimmune diseases.

Craig also has a great knowledge of performing ultrasound-guided injections and procedures. We are fortunate to have Craig Orofino with his 18 years of Rheumatology experience as a part of our practice.

Alexandra Karl, NP

Ali Karl has graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Canton in 2014. From 2014 to 2018, Ali worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Departments at Good Samaritan Hospital and Plainview Hospital while pursuing her Master’s degree.

Ali graduated cum laude with a Master of Science from Stony Brook University in 2018 and became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked at New York Integrated Rheumatology from 2018 to 2022 treating a variety of autoimmune conditions, arthritis, osteoporosis, gout, and some dermatologic conditions.

She works with her patients to create individualized treatment plans, combining traditional and holistic pain management techniques. Ali focuses on treating the whole person and can offer guidance for incorporating natural supplements and dietary changes to reduce inflammation. Ali recently worked at Just Kids Early Childhood Learning Center as a Nurse Educator and Nursing Supervisor. Ali is passionate about rheumatology and excited to join the amazing team of providers at Island Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, PC.

Jennifer Guinta, RN

Jennifer Guinta Graduated from Suffolk Community College in 2005 with her associate’s degree in nursing. She specialized in areas such as Dialysis, Oncology, and Hospice during her first 15 years as a Registered Nurse. Over the last 10 years, she specialized in Facial Cosmetics, where she combined her love of art/creativity with her passion for providing top-notch care to all of her patients. While she absolutely loved this industry, she felt she had so much more to give and decided it was time to make a change. This decision was not a hard one for her to make. Jennifer has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 20 years. She felt the desire to join our team to not only provide amazing nursing care but also be able to inspire and relate to her patients who are going through similar conditions. 

In her downtime, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys going to church and building long-lasting relationships. Her passion for creating/crafting is still strong and will always be a huge part of her life as well.
